Wildlife Experiences in True Wilderness
Where Arctic Nature Meets Refined Comfort
At Northern Lux Escapes, we invite you to experience the untouched wilderness of Eastern Finland in its most authentic and captivating form. In collaboration with the renowned Bear Centre in Vartius, Kuhmo, we offer exclusive opportunities to observe brown bears, wolverines, and wolves in their natural habitat.
Every encounter is shaped by nature itself — unhurried, unpredictable, and profoundly real.
Guests may choose between the traditional Bear Watching House or the elevated comfort of the Luxury Bear Cabin. From the cabin’s large panoramic windows, wildlife can be observed in complete privacy and serenity. At times, bears may pass just meters away, offering rare and unforgettable moments in absolute silence.
For photography enthusiasts, the area features over 20 purpose-built hides, carefully positioned across forests, wetlands, and open landscapes. These locations provide exceptional conditions for capturing wildlife at close range, with diverse and ever-changing natural backdrops. Whether professional or passionate amateur, each guest is offered a truly immersive photographic experience.
Your stay is completed with accommodation and dining at a cosy lakeside lodge, just a short walk from the hides. Here, comfort meets authenticity — allowing you to unwind, reflect, and fully connect with the surrounding Arctic nature.
